Laser cut  pendant lamp. Plywood and tansparent plexiglass.

I wished to take advantage of the warmth and lightness of plywood to create a minimalistic pendant lamp with a warm light.
The idea was to build a solid geometric shape made up of strips of wood slanting 45 degrees, like slices of a cube that were floating suspended without apparent support, and from which sprang the light, as the sun filters through the blinds.
To achieve this effect, I have chosen to use a lightweight, rigid and transparent material such as Plexiglass to realize the sides and the top of the cube, to which hook the wooden slats. The choice of materials has been dictated by the fact that they are both  suitable for laser cutting: in this way the object flows from the same processing technique and is therefore very simple to produce.
In order to maximize the light output I chose finally to terminate the "slices" of wood in the upper face and at the bottom of the cube. In this way I got a hanging lamp very suitable to be used on the dining table and at the same time capable of illuminating the entire room.
